MY fav series of graphic novel is Neil Gaimen's Sandman, Oh boy do I have a thing for Morpheus! I think it was Eno's favourites gallery I was flicking through when I saw a piece of the Endless, I believe it was *CrisVector 's(check it out, it's awesome), and it just got me thinking when I was scribbling the other day that I haven't drawn morpheus in ages! This is the resulting piece that came of that particular doodling session! I wanted to really simplify all the characters, so here they are, in order of appearance: Desire, Despair, Destiny, Destruction, Death, Delirium and *sigh* Dream......dream......dream.....

desire is actually my fave character in the series and i just love how you've portrayed 'her' here. all glamed up and flawless in that suit with the delectable twist to the hips and shiny shiny hair!!
despair, even tho she's gross makes for a good subjuct in which to draw. she's just a big sad blob with teeth. her closed eyes exentuate her dispair as if she can't even be botherd to open them to face the world around her. her little limbs barelt visible help realise the vast expanse that is despair.
destiny!! you totally got destiny! whenever i've seen him drawn he kinda looks like a reaper or a wraith. but you so got him he looks even cute. with his tome opened up there and chained to his hand. love the flow of the cloth around him. it's so thick and it really gives the sence that he's trapped in there, cause after all, no one CAN escape their destiny.
destruction! look at him standing there like a viking! i love how you've captured his personality here. he's giving that little smile just before he destroys a village. he's such an ass. strong shapes very grounded. gives the impression of invincibility and power. love it.
Death! she's so classy. love the sway of her hips! god damn you are so good at simplifying body language in a few lines. i love the fact that you've kept the curl of her eye tattoo just visible under the hat! repeated int he curl of her umbrella handle. gotta love the colour that encompasses everything she stands for. she makes black look good!
delierium as we know and love her. a crazy little thing wearing the weirdest things that she can get away with cause she's mad! i love the factt hat you've actually drawn her head separate from her body. this of course strenthens the fact that she's not at all there. the fish swimming round the head can also vouch for that. man, you really couldn't have done a better expression on her; ectaticness tinged with maddness around the edges.
and finally we come to your favourite endless. Morphious! god i love how you've represented him there. firey soul doused by complete cool blaskness of his hair and cloak. his eyes just visible have such a depth in htem even tho as i said you've simplified them all, this remains a very deep and detailed version of him. i really really adore this. the way the hair spikes and the fire tips follow the same flow round signifies his control and confident nature.....he's so damn hot. damn!
anyway....lol! seeee told you i love it. i could have just said this to ya but you have this nasty habbit of interupting me. stop it and admit you're amazing!

Oh man, I love Desire's character, but only to hate 'her', She was SUCH a devious wench to Morpheus, she never meddled as much in the others affairs, cow! But you have to appreciate a character written so well that you can feel anger towards them!
Despair, ahhh, what can you say, the original designs are all so well thought out and individual that it's quite easy to break them down to their basest level. Despair is the round one!ha! I should mention now that I was thinking of adding each charcters sigil in the box behind them, might add them in later, so it looks like a gallery.
Destiny, again another quite tragic character (a lot of them seem like that!) He's all about the cloak! That and you never see his face properly.
Destruction, Ha! He's always been a jolly one, I started drawing him with the helmet(ahem) which turned out to be a viking helmet and it just carried on from there! I went for his old personification instaed of the wanderer, waaaaaaay easier!
You know I love Death, she rocks! and Del! All I can say to you is, Curse that ballet dancing hippo and her tutu!!
And Dream, my seriously erotic thoughts on Morpheus I shall keep to myself! (not like that tramp Desire would ever let it work!)
I love you darlin!!!! thanks again fr the comment, and the fav!
